| VISIT FROM GAA PRESIDENT: HFSS was very lucky to have a visit from Christy Cooney, the president of the GAA on Friday, 21st May. He spoke to the whole school about Féile 2010. He also officially opened the school's new hurling wall. The children wore their GAA jerseys on the day. The school choir, band and some Irish dancers performed on the day. | ||
| MULTICULTURAL DAY : HFSS had a 'Multicultural Day' on May 12th. Children from all nationalities and cultures in the school had stands in the hall, where they displayed food, symbols and customs of their countries. The children also performed at the school assembly that day. Songs, dances, poems and music were performed. It was a very enjoyable day for all. Click here to see some photos from the day. | ||
| ENERGY WEEK: HFSS is held an 'Energy Week' from March 21st - 26th. Classes prepared for this week by becoming more energy aware, conducting experiments and designing & making energy related objects. Energy Week included a display in the school hall by all classes. Parents and the Junior School were invited to attend. Brian Meaney spoke to the whole school on energy and Seán Hartigan conducted an energy workshop. Energy week was a wonderful success. | ST PATRICK'S DAY: Ms Lillis' and Mr O Neill's 5th class students took part in the St Patrick's Day parade in Ennis. They displayed the artwork they have worked on for the past few months. Their display was based on the Children of Lír. Click here to see some photos of them at work. | ||
| CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK: This took place from the 1st to the 5th of February. We celebrated throughout the week by creating a sacred space in the foyer, making St Brigid's Crosses, celebratin a school mass, blessing of throats ceremony and various in class activities. | RAISING FUNDS FOR HAITI: HFSS held a no uniform day on Friday 29th January to raise money for Haiti. We raised over €500. | ||
ENNIS TIDY TOWNS ART COMPETITION: Congratulations to all the children who entered the Ennis Tidy Towns Art Competition. The theme for the competition was “Ennis ….. My Town”. A lot of children were awarded prizes. From sixth class: Ruth Gantley, Abimbola Sobayo, Kiiya Storm Jury, Eva Meaney and Tara Suarez. From 5 th Class: Hannah Bugler, Sean Egan, Ingrid Dias and Andrea Cowen. Well done to all of them. Very special congratulations goes to Hannah Bugler in 5 th Class who was the overall winner from Ennis Schools. |

| CALENDAR: The School Calendar is available in the Office at the cost of just €6. It is a beautiful colourful reminder of this year's classes. | ||
| HANSEL AND GRETEL - A CHRISTMAS ADAPTATION was performed by the students of Holy Family Senior School on December 15th and 16th in the school hall. It was a huge success and everyone enjoyed the performance. Click here to see some photos of the show. | ||
